Why a single aircraft type
Low-cost airlines reduce expenses by standardizing their fleet. With a single model, the operation gains on three fronts.
Training
Pilots and flight attendants are qualified on a single model and can be rostered on any aircraft in the fleet.
Maintenance
Mechanics, tools, procedures and spare parts inventory all serve a single aircraft type.
Planning
Any aircraft can replace another in the schedule, reducing knock-on delays and cancellations.
